This past March 31st, Hyperkin, a video game accessory
maker, made a post to their Facebook page that was supposed to be an April fool’s
joke. They said that they were going to create a product called Smart Boy,
which is a Game Boy compatible device for the iPhone 6, with more smartphones
to be added to the line in time. The
post got hundreds of responses from fans who either liked or hated the idea.
Turns out, Hyperkin’s joke was actually a teaser to gauge the response of Game
Boy, and it seems that there is enough interest in it to actually create the
product. The product’s launch is expected to improve the already robust iPhone sales.
What the Device Will Do
Game Boy is a smartphone case that will turn an iPhone into
a handheld gaming device that is compatible with Game Boy and Game Boy Color
cartridges. It features an 8 way D-pad, a start and select button, two action
buttons, and a battery that last 5 hours and can be charged with the iPhone.
The Facebook post was a conceptual design, and now that the company knows there
is an interest in the product, they will likely add more design features to the
final product.
What if You Don’t Have an iPhone?
Game Boy lovers everywhere are eagerly anticipating the
release of the new Smart Boy, but some fans of the games are left without an
iPhone. And if you don’t have one, you won’t be able to take advantage of the
new technology that converts an iPhone into a Game Boy compatible player. The good
news is that it is possible to claim a free chance to win an iPhone simply by
registering with a site that is giving them away. To do so, you will simply
need to enter some information in the registration process, and then take a
couple of surveys that will help the site owners determine which offers visitors
like you want to see in the future. Keep in mind that in order to qualify for a
free entry to win an iPhone, you
must be at least eighteen years old, a resident of the United States, and
complete the surveys that you will find on the site. After that, just sit back
and wait for the announcement about who the lucky winner of the new iPhone is.
